The volunteering project in Bhubaneswar, carried out within the European Voluntary Service (EVS), offered more than just new experiences – it offered space to grow, create, and be part of something bigger.
The project focused on helping in local slum schools, where children’s lives are being changed every single day. We were involved in teaching, playing, and supporting those who face difficult life situations. At the same time, we worked on our own projects and took part in the activities of the hosting organization.
India offered challenges, time, and space to get to know ourselves better. We learned how to function in a completely different environment, discovered a new culture, and built friendships that go beyond borders.
Volunteering in India wasn’t a holiday. It was an adventure that changed us.
